After completing a Bachelor of Science Degree at Northeastern Illinois University in 1999, I attended and graduated from National Louis University with a degree in Radiation Therapy. I was employed for over a decade at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where I treated cancer patients. During my time there, I found myself not only carrying out assigned tasks like administering radiation, taking x-rays and performing CT scans, but I became part of a wonderful team. A team that went above and beyond for each patient. We tested all treatment machines, trained new personnel, and really improved the quality of care patients were receiving at the most vulnerable time in their lives.
While at Northwestern Memorial Hospital I met an anesthesiologist from Children’s Memorial Hospital who used ear acupuncture on some of the children at that facility for pain management, nausea, and vomiting. She raved about the benefits, and also used acupuncture on some of the children’s parents to help control the anxiety, stress and depression they were experiencing. The more I researched the more I was hooked. I enrolled at Midwest College of Oriental Medicine to pursue my studies. In my quest to understand acupuncture, I pursued the following degrees:
Bachelor’s Degree in Eastern Nutrition Midwest College of Oriental Medicine
Master’s Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine
NCCAOM board certified Diplomate of Acupuncture, licensed by the State of Illinois and currently practicing in Chicago
Certified Klose Training in the Vodder Technique as a Manual Lymph Drainage Therapist
I have experienced various forms of success in treating: migraines, sports injuries, back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, knee pain, elbow pain, muscle pain, Bell’s Palsy, Womens' Health, anxiety, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, constipation, abdominal discomfort, digestive issues, nutritional counseling and many others.
