The Tastiest Probiotic

Around this time of year, we all start to feel it. The never ending food coma! There's a good chance you're even grabbing a snack as you read this post. Switching from denim to stretch, tee shirts to sweatshirts, we are all excited to indulge this time of year. Good news! We can add a little natural probiotic to your favorite meal, and it's mouthwatering delicious.

Most people don't realize how much sugar can be added to your favorite Kombucha, or how expensive supplements can be, or some don't want to swallow a cinder block (apple cider vinegar). One of the best kept secrets is actually sauerkraut. It's a natural probiotic that's really great for your gut. Adding it once a week, or once every other week during the winter can help regulate your system, and adding a few veggies really helps with immunity, antioxidants, and you feel full on the good stuff.


I recommend -


2 sliced onions

1 package mushrooms (whole or sliced) 1 red pepper sliced

1 jar sauerkraut (no sugar added)

Olive oil

Salt

Pepper

Paprika (Hungarian is my fav)


Sauté the onions, red pepper and mushrooms with a splash of olive oil, salt and pepper. Once caramelized, add the jar of kraut, and season with that tasty paprika. Let it all simmer in it's goodness, then crank that heat to caramelize that kraut.
